In-Network Coverage
I provide in-network coverage through Headway for clients insured with Aetna, Cigna, and BCBS-Massachusetts. If you are in-network with any of these insurance companies, please let me know during the consultation call so I can provide you with the appropriate paperwork. I also offer in-network coverage to clients insured through Modern Health. If you have Modern Health, you can contact them to verify how many sessions are covered by your policy. If you’d like to continue therapy after your coverage expires, you will need to pay for additional sessions.
Please note that when you choose to use your insurance, a diagnosis will be provided, and your notes and treatment plans may be requested for audits. Additionally, couples therapy is generally not covered by major insurance companies, except through Modern Health, so if you are seeking couples therapy, you will not have the option to use your insurance.
Out-of-Network Coverage
I provide out-of-network coverage for clients who have these benefits through their insurance policy. My license, training, and education will allow you to be qualified for out-of-network reimbursement from most insurance plans if this is part of your policy. To determine if you have mental health coverage through your insurance carrier, the first thing you should do is call them. Verify with them your benefits and the percentage of reimbursement. You will pay me my full rate and at the end of each month, I will provide you with a receipt for you to submit to your insurance company. They will then reimburse you directly.
Payment
Payments are made online prior to each session utilizing a credit card. If you are utilizing out-of-network benefits, I can provide an invoice at the end of each month which you can submit to your health insurance company for reimbursement.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel 24 hrs in advance. Otherwise, you will be charged for the full rate of the session.
Billing Questions
Please contact me for any additional questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you!
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
- Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
- Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.

What are the benefits of private pay?
Choosing to pay privately (without insurance) helps to ensure your utmost confidentiality and privacy when working together. I do not need to release your records to the insurance company without your consent. Also, when using your insurance, I must diagnose you with a mental health condition that will become part of your medical record. If you choose to pay privately, information about the nature of your treatment and the issues discussed in sessions will remain solely between you and I. Choosing to pay privately, gives you total freedom over the length and frequency of therapy. Insurance companies will typically only cover a specific number of sessions, may not allow more than an hour weekly session, and most don’t cover couples and family therapy. Thus, it is important to consider which option you prefer and are most comfortable with prior to beginning treatment.
How do you decide your rates?
My private pay rates are competitive to the area served and the quality of the services provided. I am a specialist in the field of relationships and couples therapy with years of post-graduate education, training, and experience. Rates take into consideration my credentials and experience, the personalized services offered, and the average rate charged in Miami, FL.
Please, be aware that the form of payment accepted is credit card and that it is due at the time of services.
How long does therapy last, and how often do I need to come?
I pride myself in providing personalized treatment to all of my clients, therefore, the length and frequency vary greatly. These will be influenced by the presenting problem as well as the goals we set for therapy. Typically, I prefer to see a client on a weekly basis for at least the first two months to make a comprehensive assessment, build a strong therapeutic relationship, and provide you with the basic tools. Once you begin to see progress and that your symptoms have significantly improved, we can reduce the frequency of treatment to biweekly, monthly, and as needed.
Private pay clients have the flexibility to schedule longer sessions and more than one session a week. This accelerates the assessment process and allows you to experience positive results sooner. It’s also beneficial when in the midst of a crisis and for clients who would like to do a mix of individual and couple or family support sessions.
